We believe that properly formulated certified organic personal care products are not only good for you but are actually more effective than their commercially mass-produced chemical laden counterparts. That said we love what we do and feel strongly about producing a unique and safe cosmetic line that not only we enjoy but that YOU can enjoy as well!

What is Certified Organic?
Certified Organic is a term labeling products that are produced using materials and practices that enhance the ecological balance of natural systems as a whole. Using these principles Raw Botanicals can help nurture and care for your skin, as well as the environment.

Why is a 100% biodegradable cosmetic line important?
Certified organic biodegradable cosmetics are safer for the environment as they help to give back to nature by assisting in maintaining the soil rather than depleting and harming it.

What is "Vegan" based mean?
Raw Botanicals "vegan" based terminology refers to the fact that all of are product bases use natural vegetable sourced ingredients. We do not use ingredients, such as Lanolin which is a commonly used natural humectants produced by sheep's wool. Nor do we use man made bases such as petroleum. Lastly Raw Botanicals DOES NOT test on animals, or use any providers that test on animals.

Is it true that organic natural products are not only gentler to the skin but less effective as well?
Nothing could be further from the truth! For example, the Alpha Hydroxy Acids, that Raw Botanicals uses is derived from Sugarcane, and is one of the most effective AHA's. This is primarily due to their smaller molecular size, which allows them to penetrate deeper into the skin's surface allowing for a more revitalized complexion.

Are your products safe for children and pets?
Actually our product line is almost edible! The entire line of products is safe for children and pets, just read each product use carefully and keep product out of your child or pets eyes. Raw Botanicals Lemongrass Insect Deterrent is safe for children over six months and our Eucalyptus Skin Mist makes for an awesome natural deodorizer for your pets.

Will I see results with the use of Raw Botanicals cosmetics?
Depending on the type, age and condition of your skin, you can see clear results within the first two months of continued use of our products. Elasticity, radiance, skin tone, softness and over-all balanced skin pH can be expected when Raw Botanicals organic products are used in conjunction with a healthy lifestyle.

Who produces your ingredients?
Raw Botanicals take great care in utilizing only the most potent and pure botanicals, natural vitamins and minerals. Most of our ingredients come from renewable resources that are environmentally sound, and many of the ingredients are grown or harvested by local Costa Rican organic FAIR TRADE farmers, helping them preserve their way of life. When we can not find the organic ingredients we need through Fair Trade farmers, or certified organic producers, we work directly with individuals or small factories in an attempt to ensure a fairly paid wage to their employees.

What is Fair Trade?
Fair Trade signifies that all of the organic Fair Trade farmers we work with are paid a fair, living wage for their work. There is no child labor, and the working conditions of the people are above the norm in their respective region. This has resulted in our producers receiving a fair price under direct long-term contracts, and helped financially assist them in being able to use ecologically sustainable methods and conserve natural resources.

Why is Fair Trade important?
Fair Trade brings the benefits of trade into the hands of communities that need it most. It sets new social and environmental standards for international companies and demonstrates that trade can indeed be a vehicle for sustainable development. Revenue from Fair Trade cooperatives is used on a variety of community projects, including training of producers in organic and sustainable farming techniques (i.e. composting), building houses, schools and clinics and guaranteeing health care for the whole community, among others.

Why do you use natural organic ingredients instead of synthetic ingredients?
All of our ingredients are used at the optimum level ... no skimping! Think of our products as organic food for your skin. We use natural and certified organic ingredients over cheaper synthetic ingredients to help eliminate the release of hazardous bi-products into the environment that occurs during the production of synthetic products in laboratories and factories across the globe.

How do you make the product?
All of our products are my by hand, in our centrally located organic laboratory in Quepos, Manuel Antonio Costa Rica. We create small batches in a carefully controlled and sterile environment, and hand pour each and every bottle to guarantee not only the quality but the safety of every product we produce.

Who makes the product?
Raw Botanicals magical blends were created my it's founder Molly McBride. Molly is a certified massage therapist and estitician by trade, and has spent the last 12 years dedicating her time to organic alternatives to synthetic cosmetics. The magic continues with Molly's good friend Katya Vega Seguro as the lab's resident blender. Before Raw Botanicals was lucky enough to have her, Katya was a well known chef for one of Manuel Antonio's most popular restaurants. A perfect match for Raw Botanicals, Katya takes Raw Botanicals production and integrity to the next level. Due to there combined expertise, our lab now boast one of the most sterile and well stocked array of organic ingredients in Costa Rica.

What do you mean when you say you give a percentage of sales away?
Not only do we donate a percentage of our sales to reforestation programs in Costa Rica, but Raw Botanicals is a large supporter of the Costa Rican domestic animal rescue foundations. So much so that Molly McBride the owner and developer of Raw Botanicals started Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica's first successful spay and neuter program, still in practice there today. For this reason we continue to provide a significant percentage of our gross sales in support of the Manuel Antonio spay and neuter clinics.

Do you have a distributors program?
Raw Botanicals currently produces certified organic products for Hotels, Resorts, Boutiques, Tour Agencies, Spa's and private events. We currently do not offer any distributing options.
